All-New Glyph Grid Layout

📐 Layouts: Glyph Grid

The Glyph Grid layout has been rebuilt from the ground up, with dozens of new features—including slanted side bearings, no more colliding glyphs or labels, vertical writing direction, and so much more. Check out the release notes for screenshots and details.

This new version of Glyph Grid is also the foundation for exciting upcoming features, like comparing multiple styles for each glyph.

More improvements to the Glyph Grid layout are planned, so let me know what you’re interested in. Some examples are:

Show more glyph info in the labels—like Unicode value(s), final character, and glyph ID
Filter and sort the glyphs in a font (ex: all uppercase Cyrillic glyphs).
Show other overlays like anchors, guidelines, background paths, background images, and more. Many of these would come from the source font project (ex: a UFO or Glyphs file) as they aren’t in a final exported font (ex: OTF).
